Wow, only five more weeks and I’ve been doing this meme for a whole year. A meme all by myself. What fun! Okay here is one more attempt to try to get more participants. I am begging, pleading, please join me on Weekend Reflection! It isn’t that hard. All you need to do is summarize your week or tell a quick story about something that happened over the past week. It isn’t that difficult and you do not have to write as much as I do.
I use this meme as a form of therapy. It really helps me to sort out the events of the week, deal with every day stresses and vent a little. Venting is good. I know you may be thinking right now, “But I already participate in several memes. How am I going to remember to do this one, and on a busy Saturday of all days!” I totally understand. Write it on Friday night and schedule it to post on Saturday. Or wait until Sunday. That’s alright. I don’t always publish this on Saturday, although I am going to try. I know how busy the weekends can be. This is a fun meme and I would love to read about what you have all been up to. Okay, now I am done begging.
My week went a lot better than the previous one. Thank goodness. I got a little more sleep. Every morning I crashed on the couch after I wrote my blog posts for the day. I guess I’m being lazy, or maybe it is due to the pregnancy. This fourth one is really wearing me out.
On Tuesday I managed to make it to the gym. I need to go more often but am having trouble scheduling it in my day. I mainly go to the gym to help deal with stress, but I’m sure it will also help me to gain less weight during this pregnancy. I’ll have to try to schedule it every day next week.
My blog is taking off and that is exciting. I’ve been getting more visitors every day, more subscribers and awards. I think I am finally accepted into the Mommy Blogosphere. I’ve made several blogging friends and that is also exciting for me. Especially because I don’t have very many real friends out here in Sacramento. I’m working on that though.
My counselor says that I need to get involved in the community. But I am taking baby steps towards that goal. I have a lot of work to do to try to take better care of myself. Sometimes it is hard for me to get motivated to just change my clothes. Again, I am working on that too. Depression can be very difficult and confusing.
Chris worked 40 hours this week. This will really help our financial situation. We are also expecting the largest tax return that we have ever received in a few weeks. Sometimes having three kids and making less than 30 thousand a year has it’s perks. But we still feel like we are stuck in a rut here. The economy needs to pick up soon so Chris can find a better paying job. There is no way he will be able to support a family of six on what he is making now. And when the baby arrives we won’t be able to live in this house for very much longer. We only have three bedrooms and they are tiny rooms. I have a feeling that I’m going to have another girl. Every time I was pregnant I always had this “feeling” or “inkling” as to what the gender was. Every time I was right. If I am right again we need a bigger house. I can’t cram three girls in that tiny bedroom.
Courtney had a pretty good week. She is doing well in school. On Thursday I had to keep her home because she had a terrible sore throat and headache. I think she is coming down with a cold. But she insisted on going to school on Friday. Hopefully with plenty of fluids she can kick this thing in the butt.
Ciara is doing well with her home school pre-school work. This week we learned the letter C, the number 2, the colors yellow, blue, purple and green and squares and rectangles. We also worked on her flash cards. She is getting really good at counting to 20. But she needs a little more work with her letter recognition. Ciara can sing the alphabet song, but if I mix up the letters she doesn’t know what is what. I know it will come with practice. This week we are going to learn about plants so she can help me plant our garden. The rain has stopped and the weather is finally warming up! On Friday we will go on a field trip to a green house.
Conan had a fever on Monday but soon got over it. We think that he is cutting more teeth. We are also doing better with the potty training. He still insists on sitting on the big potty but I don’t know how to train him that way. Aren’t boys supposed to go pee, pee while standing? I think I am going to leave that part up to his daddy to teach. I can’t get him to sit on his potty for very long, so I found an old belt of Courtney’s and am using that as a seat belt to keep him on the potty. I used old towels for my girls when they first started sitting on the potty but Conan is so strong he breaks right through them. One day I got him to stay on the potty by giving him a treat. But I don’t think I want to continue using bribery. Another day Ciara and I sang to him while he sat. That worked much better. I’ve decided we need to take baby steps with him. He is allot different than my girls were when it comes to potty training.
The weather is supposed to be nice today. It is going to be sunny with temperatures in the sixties. So we’ve decided to do some yard work. If the ground isn’t too wet we are going to dig up all the weeds and prepare the garden for planting. My in-laws gave us this old tiller to use. Chris is really excited about using that. Hopefully the ground won’t be to wet.
I would love to hear about your week! Please join me on Weekend Reflection!
