pregnancy Weekend Reflection

Weekend Reflection #64 | BlogHer and My Pregnancy Vent

It’s time once again to reflect on the past week. What were some of the positive things that happened? What really bothered you? Did you laugh? Cry? Stand on your head? Whatever you did this past week I want to hear it. Writing down all the crazy things that happened over the past week is a good way to deal with stress. As our lives get busier and busier along with it is stress. It is time to let it all out so you can enjoy your weekend. While some of my blogging friends are off to BlogHer 2009 in Chicago I am sitting here still waiting for my baby. I am 37 weeks along and fast approaching the longest pregnancy I have ever had. I am getting impatient, uncomfortable, swollen and extremely tired. I tell myself every day that I shouldn’t worry or think about it because then I’d get stressed out. But it is so hard!

So here is my pregnancy vent. Every day I have contractions that last about 5 or 6 hours but then as soon as I lay down they go away. I’ve tried everything to speed up labor from massage, walking, acupressure, eating licorice and drinking licorice tea, and I even tried pineapple. But my little boy is being stubborn.

It is hard to believe that six weeks ago I was hospitalized for pre-term labor and now I just want the baby to be born soon. I think it is due to the fact that I am having another boy. Conan was born at 37 1/2 weeks. My girls were born at 36 and 35 weeks.

My ob appointments are on Mondays and my due date is August 13 so technically August 10 should be my final appointment, if I am still pregnant then. I think I am going to ask my doctor if I can be induced on the 10th. Sounds strange, huh?

I am going to continue to complain until the baby is finally born. I’m sure some of my readers are anxious to see pictures and read stories about our latest edition. Keep checking back because you never know.

I would love to hear how your week went. Join in the fun and don’t forget to leave your link!

Awww HUGS sweetie I've been there.
My 1st delivered at 36w , my 2nd was just like the 1 your going through now delivered at 41Weeks. Uuugh I was pregnant 4 ever! and miserable.

Try to keep your self hydrated, and busy. You can hang in there just know that the longer your pregnant the more healthy environment your providing for your baby. Each day is a blessing for baby.
I know your so ready but get those last things finished that you can and get out for a movie and a dinner out. Its will be a long time before your able to do that again.
    Take care
    Congratulations

That is amazing that this baby is going to be your latest! I remember how ready I was at 36 weeks (Logan was born 25 days early) so I'm hoping my next baby is born around 37 weeks again. But you never know, sometimes there is a good reason so hopefully you won't have to be induced. I have a feeling it's going to happen this week for you!!!

Babies come when it's time, it's a bit early to be thinking you want to be induced. The health of the baby and you have a better chance if you let nature take it course.

Never heard that eating pineapple or lic. had anything to do with deliveries.

I say relax a bit, make sure you have things done around the house you want done; or if you're at work that you're caught up so things will go smoother once you do deliver.

    Good Luck
    Sandy
I joined Blogher, but haven't gotten into it. The workings of it don't seem all that user friendly to me. Do you enjoy it there?

I'm so sorry this last part is such a drag. I hope that your baby comes really soon for you. I'm excited to see the newest little one!

I told my doctors the day my daughter would be born and they said it was impossible. We didn't know what we were going to have through the whole thing….military doesn't tell you. We were anxious….excited….you name it. The day I said, she tried coming….and the day after. They finally gave me so much meds to stop it, that a month later I was induced. They were thrilled, but I was upset. They kept saying she was too small. Hubby and I are both short, we couldn't have a giant!! To this day, I believe I carried her 10 months instead of 9!!

I do wish you all the best and will pray for you and the baby. It's all going to be alright. TAKE CARE!!

I am so sorry your little man does not want to come out. My little man came on August 4, 2008 when his due date was August 8th. Just think happy thoughts. Drink lots of water and continue to do your walking. Hubby made me walk for 2 hours one day. I don't know if it helped me go into labor but it sure helped me to have a labor no longer than 4 hours. And have sex, my doctor told us that sperm helps the cervix to dilate.
