The Yo Gabba, Gabbas

Does your child have a favorite toy? Sometimes kids get so attached to their toys that they seem real. My son’s “Yo Gabba, Gabbas” or what he calls them the “Yo, Yo Gabbas” go everywhere with him and in his eyes they are real.

If you haven’t heard of the kids television show, Yo Gabba Gabba the best way to describe it is it is like an off the wall version of Sesame Street only in a half an hour instead of one hour. describes Yo Gabba, Gabba in these words:

Yo Gabba Gabba! is a fun live-action program for young children ages 1 and up. Join our host DJ Lance Rock as he introduces us to friendly toy monsters in a magical land full of music, dance, colorful cartoons, and simple life lessons that will get you and your children up off the floor to learn and dance along. Just say the magic words! YO GABBA GABBA!!

Meet DJ Lance Rock and the rest of the characters from Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr.!

DJ Lance Rock

He’s our host, and in each episode he gets the show started with the magic words, “Yo Gabba Gabba!”

Muno, the red cyclops is very friendly, mild-mannered, but sometimes slightly impatient. He loves to learn and is very outgoing. Sometimes he can be a bit clumsy and has been known to break things.

Foofa is a pink flower bubble. She’s giggly, outgoing, happy, bubbly, and likes things that are cute and cuddly. But sometimes she gets a little moody if things don’t go her way.

The little green one is cuddly and cute, but also cautious and needs constant reassurance. He’s sometimes scared to try new things. Music, singing, and dancing help give him confidence and help him to learn.

Plex, the magic robot! He’s always there to provide music, teach lessons, and use his wonderful magical powers to beam guests into Yo Gabba Gabba Land. Like a parent, he typically knows how to solve problems.

The blue cat-dragon, Toodee’s very smart and independent. She’s also athletic and mischievous. Sometimes she gets too excited about things and can be selfish.

Conan loves this show and has started a collection of Yo Gabba Gabba toys. His Yo Gabba Gabba friends do everything with him.

They play hide and seek with Conan, ride in the car with him and we always have to tuck the “Yo, yo Gabbas” in bed with him at night.

One day while playing hide and seek Brobee decided to hide in the trash can in Ciara and Courtney’s room. We haven’t seen him since. Every single day Conan would ask, ” Where is Brobee?” Finally I realized that he was playing hide and seek in Courtney’s trash can and she took the trash out the same day he disappeared. Oops!

I talked to my husband about the missing toy and he decided that it would be alright to purchase a new set of characters as replacements, just in case anyone else decides to hide in the trash can.

So I went online and did a search. This is what I found: And this is the least expensive one online! There is no way I am going to spend that kind of money on little plastic toys.

After learning that this gift was purchased at Toys R Us for about $10 I made the trip to the toy Superstore. At last my son would get his beloved Brobee back…until I saw that the shelf was empty. Geez! Now what? The store clerk checked the product and informed me that they were discontinued. Now I understand why they are selling for nearly $15 per character online. I know this is a popular show, but THAT popular?

Yesterday, Conan, with the help of his sister, Ciara, decided to plant the Yo, Yo Gabbas in the garden. Maybe he can grow some more and then we will be rich! I can keep dreaming, right?

Conan and Ciara watch this show all the time. Conan is addicted to it, I swear. He also believes that the characters are real. It's hilarious.

Sounds like a great show! We have never watched that one yet, but may have to. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by A Mom's Balancing Act!

So THAT's where those guys are from! My kids only know the “There's a Party in your Tummy” clip from YouTube, which they are obsessed with – but I found that by accident and didn't realize it was this “Yo Gabba, Gabbas” show I'd been hearing about (we have no cable TV, and apparently I live under a rock!)

My husband works for Dish Network so we get the Nick Jr. Network and we have a DVR so my son never misses an episode. Thanks for stopping by and leaving us a comment!

Awww, that stinks that they are so much money. Johnny's “doggy” is one of those hard-to-find items and I spent a fortune to get it.

We get to go see YGG this weekend! yay!

My son has a Yo Gabba Gabba! obsession too. In fact, he is insisting that his birthday party be Yo Gabba-riffic this year.

Maybe I can get my husband to dress up as DJ Lance Rock. lol.

Thanks for visiting The Suburban Princess Diaries! I love your blog and I am so glad you found me so that we can follow each other!

Thanks for visiting us! Isn't that show hilarious? If you get your husband to dress up like DJ Lance Rock I'd like to see a photo of that!

My son is obsessed with that show and when he turns three in July I might have to throw him a Yo Gabba Gabba party as well.

I can totally sympathize with you because we went through a similar situation not too long ago.

    Muno went missing!

We searched hi and lo for that guy. Ended up having to buy an entire set to replace Muno, because my daughter wasn't the same after he was gone.

So….. what I'm trying to say is, I would totally be willing to send you the replacement Gabba you need.

PS. Sometimes Target has the single packages of the Gabba's too.

We were never fortunate enough to find a Muno in one of them. I bet they have Brobee though.
