Human Body Detectives – A Heart Pumping Adventure

Heather Manley’s Human Body Detective series should be a part of every home school families curriculum. They feature unique and creative stories about sisters Merrin and Pearl. The girls travel into various systems of the body solving a health “case.”

In the latest one in the series, “A Heart Pumping Adventure,” Merrin and Pearl are concerned about their dad’s health when they observe him eating a breakfast high in fat and calories.

Before they know it they enter their father’s body and explore his circulatory system. Children learn a lot about their heart and how to keep it healthy by eating the right foods and exercising.

The audio story is exciting and engaging. I always have the song playing in my head hours after listening to it. Each adventure also comes with an educational workbook. The workbook is filled with fun puzzles, activities and stickers that reinforce the main points in the story.

The Human Body Detectives series is a perfect tool to add to any elementary health or science curriculum.
