The Eat – Clean Diet: A Review and Giveaway

There are a lot of theories out there telling us how to eat.  I simply don’t agree with most of them.  They require radical changes and weird patterns of eating.  (OK, I admit my family does eat a little weird.) But many diets involve strict rules of counting calories, thinking that food is evil, and eating prepackaged expensive meals.

Not so with Tosca Reno’s simple strategies for lasting health and fitness. At 40, this mother of 5 radically changed her life, lost weight, and took charge of her health.

Now, my family does eat a little differently.  You might call us a bit granola.  You never know what you might find growing in my kitchen . . . kombucha, water kefir soda, yogurt, milk kefir, sprouted grains . . . .  You will also observe that if you give my child a fruit roll up, they won’t know what to do with it.  You will either have to explain to them how to open the package or  how to tear the “fruit” off of the wrapper.   My three boys are more accustomed to eating food as it was naturally created or intended to eat:  raw fruits; smoothies loaded with kefir, coconut milk, and frozen fruit; homemade English Muffins with coconut oil or organic local butter, etc.

For this reason, I appreciate Tosca Reno.

In fact, being pregnant has sadly made this granola mom a wee-bit lazy.  But I am revitalized, reasonably challenged, and excited to reinstate the principles in Reno’s book that I had let slide in my last trimester.

After reading two of her books, The Eat-Clean Diet for Family & Kids and The Eat – Clean Diet Recharged!, I am super excited to suggest an author who makes healthy eating understandable, doable, and easily implemented.  Chalked full of encouraging testimonials, you will learn that breakfast is your most important meal, the 6 principles of a healthy diet, how to shop, and recipes to encourage your new lifestyle

If you are overwhelmed by all of the health food plans, look no further.  Tosca Reno has written a colorful, highly motivating , encouraging manual that is a must in any mom’s kitchen who wants to make positive changes for herself and her family.

You had better bet that in the upcoming weeks my fridge is going transformed into a stocked box of fresh snacks that are ready to be grabbed; protein packed breakfasts; children excited to eat 6 reasonable meals a day (along with their newborn sister) that will provide the structure to lose my baby weight and provide continuous energy for my children.

Want to join me?  Enter to win a copy of Tosca Reno’s book, The Eat-Clean Diet for Family & Kids .  One winner will be selected.

I plan on trying the yogurt cheese! Sounds very interesting. I make my own dips so I can wait to use it to replace sour cream for a twist! Thanks

  • chrissid7 , September 14, 2010

I also liked you on facebook. I have a daughter that is alleric to artificial color and flavors. They cause her to have petit mal seizures. I started her on the gluten free diet as well (we both eat clean) it has been the best thing we have ever done together. I love adding new recipes to our collection. Ive enjoyed your site! Im picking through some recipes to share now.
