After being featured on the Dr. Oz Show as an effective weight loss supplement, bottles of Raspberry Ketones flew off of health store shelves all across the country. What exactly are raspberry ketones and do they help you burn fat quicker like the manufactures claim?
Raspberry Ketones are found in the primary aroma compound of red raspberries. This compound regulates adiponectin, a protein used by the body to control metabolism. Rasberry Ketones help the fat cells in your body break down more easily. In order to burn fat faster it is recommended that you take 100mg of Raspberry ketones per day which is the equivilant of consuming 90 pounds of red raspberries.
Scientists have researched the effectiveness of Raspberry Ketones for fat loss in lab mice. In one study, mice were fed a high-fat diet plus raspberry ketones for about ten weeks. The results were astonishing. Compared to the control mice, the mice that took the raspberry ketones had a significant decrease in the amount of fat in their livers and abdominal tissue.
Scientists also studied the relationship between raspberry ketones and the protien adiponectin. Adiponectin is a protein used by the body to regulate metabolism. People with higher level of adiponectin have fewer fat stores. As a result of the research, scientists concluded that raspberry keytones cause the body to secrete more adiponectin.
Based on all the scientific research I believe that if you are having a hard time trying to lose weight taking a daily supplement of raspberry ketones may help you shed the pounds quicker. After, Dr. Mehmet Oz featured Raspberry Ketones as a fat-buster on his popular television show back in February, it is nearly impossible to find them on store shelves.
