https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js If you are a Christian mom like I am, your kids may have already asked you this question. The answer is not a simple one that can be discussed over dinner. Cindy Pertzborn, a Christian mother of three provides a kid-friendly solution for answering tough questions like this one in her new children’s book, “How Do We Get to Heaven?”
When her son Brandon was five-years-old he asked, “mom, how do we get to heaven?” At first she gave him small bits of information on the topic but the more she answered the more questions her little boy asked. After her discussion with her son Pertzborn became inspired by God to help parents answer that same question.
In the story, “How Do We Get to Heaven,” Pertzborn tells a story about ten-year-old Shane and his younger sister, Jaiden. The two kids play together and compete in almost everything that they do. After learning that a teammate on Shane’s baseball team had an uncle that passed away, Shane asks his mom about heaven.
Throughout the book Mom and Dad explain to their children how Jesus died on the cross for our sins and we need to admit that we have sinned, ask for forgiveness, believe that Jesus is the Son of God and choose to trust and love God in order to get to Heaven.
Pertzborn uses colorful illustrations (Illustrated by Stephen Adams), and bible quotes in the story. My children enjoyed this book and I am sure yours will too. “How Do We Get to Heaven?” is a wonderful story that should be in every Christian families’ home library.
