Coconut Oil isn’t Just for Cooking; it’s Also a Beauty Multitasker

Coconut oil has been available for many years and it has slowly become a staple part of many cooking cultures. It offers a multitude of health benefits when used for cooking, but it can also be used to enhance your beauty. The oil has been shown to be an excellent moisturizer and removes make-up quickly and easily. There are many more ways by which you can incorporate coconut oil into your daily beauty routine:

Efficient hair mask

When coconut oil is heated to seventy six degrees Fahrenheit it stops being a creamy white solid compound and turns to liquid. When in this liquid, oil state it can be applied to your hair and will ensure your hair is moisturized and has a healthy shine. It is best to take a pot of coconut oil into the shower with you and the warmth of the water will melt the oil ready for once you have finished shampooing. For best results the oil should be left in your hair for five minutes.

Nourishing body oil

In its solid state it can be gently massaged into your skin and your skin will be soft and moisturized all over. It will also provide the tropical scent which can transport you to the Caribbean. Alternatively you can add a little peppermint or lavender oil and use the mixture for an intensely relaxing massage.

Lip balm

As a moisturizer it is extremely effective when used on dry lips; it can restore them to full health in very little time. It can also be carried with you very easily in a small tin, or an old contact lens holder. This means you will always have some with you.

Ragged cuticle’s can make your hands appear dry and much older than they are. Fortunately coconut oil can be applied directly to them at any time and will moisturizer the cuticles and restore them to a younger looking state of health. As an added benefit the oil will strengthen your nails at the same time.

Under eye cream

Busy lifestyles, stress and a lack of sleep can all combine to give you fine lines, dark circles or even just puffy eyes. This is because the skin under your eyes is very thin and easily damaged. Coconut oil can be applied directly to this skin and help to remove the damage to this skin. A pinch of oil can be warmed between your fingers before being applied and will quickly have you looking and feeling better.

Destroy the frizz

A tiny amount of coconut oil can be warmed between your fingers and applied to the bottom of your hair; it will stop it from going frizzy throughout the day!

Everyone wants their skin to glow and give the appearance of fresh, youthful energy. IF you struggle with getting your sin to do this then add a touch of coconut oil to the tops of your cheekbones, just above your lip and above your eyebrows. You will have an instantly hydrated look – your skin will glow. For this use you will need to melt the coconut oil.

Make-up remover

Just half a teaspoon of coconut oil can be massaged into your skin to effectively remove all your make-up in no time at all. Warm the oil until it becomes liquid and massage it directly onto the skin. Perfect results every time!

Body scrub

Coconut oil can be mixed with either sea salt or sugar to make your own body scrub. The ingredients should be mixed in the same quantities. This can then be used to rub over your hard or dried skin and will both moisturize and remove dead cells; providing you with baby soft skin.

Shaving cream

Oil can be a very effective aid when shaving; a little melted coconut oil will ensure your razor glides smoothly across your skin without causing any nicks or cuts. Again, it will moisturize your skin in the process.

As you can see, coconut oil is a miracle type of beauty product. It is a multitasker, so you should definitely have it in your home. Use it on your body and your skin will be softer and more rejuvenated than ever before.
