#WordlessWednesday on a Tuesday – Mosquitoes, Spiders, Oh My

Wordless Wednesday is live on thehealthymoms.net and talbertzoo.com. Link up to your Wordless Wednesday post.

Yesterday my eight-year old came up to me and said, “Mom, there is something strange in the pond.”

“What do you mean? Is it an animal?” I asked.

“Something like that,” he said. “It’s swimming in the pond.”

When I took a closer look I noticed that there were tiny little things swimming in the pond. I figured that it could be tadpoles or worse, baby mosquitoes.  Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water.  July and August are prime months for mosquitoes here in the Midwest.

I also saw a beautiful spiderweb on the pond. Hopefully, when the little mosquitoes begin to fly the spider will catch them. We are also thinking about spraying our pond. How do you control mosquitoes?
