Halloween is just around the corner, if you are like me you want your kids to have a fun, safe and healthy Halloween. Once Trick or Treating is all over what should we as parents allow our kids to do with all that candy? I know some moms limit the number of houses their children visit each year. This is a fantastic option, however the long walk from house to house is good exercise for our little ones. Also, they sure have fun seeing the different and creative Halloween decorations outside. So what are some other ways we can make Halloween healthier for our children?
Author Cara Via answered that question by introducing the fun and creative children’s book, Halloween Holly. Halloween Holly is a fictional character from the north pole. Her mother is a fairy and her father is an elf. Halloween Holly learns that Santa’s elves need candy to give them extra energy to make toys for Christmas. So, she and her brother Howie delivered candy to the elves.
Halloween Holly : Santa’s Helper
One day Howie got sent to a special school to learn how to make toys for Santa. Holly was lonely with her brother gone. While in Santa’s workshop Holly overheard an elf saying that they were way behind in making toys because there was a shortage of candy. Holly knew she had to do something about it.
She remembered that every Halloween kids all over get candy from trick or treating. So, she designed a special bowl for the kids to use to put their leftover candy in. Santa gave her the name, Halloween Holly and she visited children on the playground with her special bowl.
Halloween Holly encouraged the kids to pick out 10 pieces of candy to save and eat for the next few days. Then they place the rest of their candy in the special bowl for the elves. Over the next two nights Halloween Holly will visit the children to collect the extra candy and bring it to the North Pole.
Parents are encouraged to get the Halloween Holly book and special bowl to share with their children. Then after Halloween you can have your children pick out their favorite pieces of candy to keep and place the rest in the magical bowl for Halloween Holly. Your children will learn about the importance of sharing and the elves at the North Pole will not have a candy shortage again.
Halloween Holly’s book and magical bowl can be purchased on Amazon or where ever books are sold.
