I started this online magazine nearly 10 years ago and watched it grow from a tiny little blog to a huge site with 50,000 followers, readers and fans. I am humbled by this experience and it has changed my life. I met so many wonderful people through online communities, learned a lot about myself, and how to take better care of my family. But now it is time for me to move on.
I am not completely leaving the Healthy Moms Magazine. I will still be here in spirit, and watching in the background. I have entrusted this business, website and brand to Lauren Minchen. She is the new managing editor and the main contact for our magazine. Lauren is brilliant, energetic, and I am confident that she can grow the Healthy Moms Mag brand and we will reach even more families with our message.
I am starting a new chapter in my life. If you follow my other blog, the Talbert Zoo, or are my friend on Facebook, you will know that my children are very special. My daughter just started those crazy tween years and she needs mom more than ever. We recently learned that our youngest is most likely on the autism spectrum. If this is the case, we will have 3 children with high functioning autism. But we will not know for sure for a while because he is on a long waiting list to be officially diagnosed. In the meantime I am working extra hard to make sure my special kids get all there needs met.
Back in 2014 I decided to start writing a book. I got a third of the way through and had to table it. Life happens and sometimes you can’t finish a project when you would like to. In 2017 I decided that I must buckle down and finish my book. The only way I could do this was if I hired someone to take over this site. I am putting my trust in the Lord and he will help me finish my project. I guarantee that I will throw a party once it is published.
What is the book about you ask? I can’t disclose the details. It’s a secret. I will tell you this, my book is a lot like this blog but with more depth, soul, faith, wisdom and all guided by the Holy Spirit. Some of the book is about health, fitness, nutrition and family. But it is much, much more than that.
