How old were your kids when they got potty trained?

How old were your children when they were potty trained? My son is almost three and he isn't trained yet. I want to get him into a pre-school but kids have to be potty trained first. Any advice?

Mine were all potty trained by the time they were two. I was determined to get my kids out of the diapers as soon as possible.

My daughter was over four when she finally potty trained and it was a battle. She had started to use the potty when she was three and my husband and I made a big deal out of it (like "they" say you're supposed to do) and she got embarrassed, so that was the end of it. I walked away from it for a while, but when she was four she had to stay with her aunt for a weekend and I was determined to have her out of diapers for that. We made a prize basket and took a long weekend to stay home and focus on nothing but potty training. Those three days felt like a lifetime, but we got it done.

Whatever you do, don't beat yourself up. All kids are different and you just have to find the right trick to make it work for your son.
